Here at Bumperactive, we're definitely about talk—but we also try to be just as much about action. That's why we don't just blog about this funny old world, we manufacture and distribute physical objects to get out there and be a part of it. We don't just sell stuff, we also help raise money for other activists and doers. We're not "just-another-bumper-sticker-site"; we're the bumperactive one.

In this vein, we're proud to unveil our first mobile device application: The Self Interest personal financial calculator. SelfInterest is a free-of-charge program for you to download to your cell or BlackBerry, developed by our good friends at Close Reach Communications—in our view the finest crew of mobile apps developers in the River City.

You can use SelfInterest to do the kinds of personal finance calculations that are a bit tricky to muscle-through on a standard calculator, but which you absolutely need to perform in order to make smart decisions with your money. Maybe that sounds a little buttoned-down coming from the wild-and-crazy bumper sticker guys, but lets bottom line it: Our aim is helping people change the world. That's a tall-order to contemplate even when you're not flat-out broke (and let's face it, it's us dreamers and idealists who are the worst with our dough).

You can test-drive a working demo of SelfInterest over there on the right -->>. Try it out for the following money-functions:

  • Time to value: enabling you to calculate how long it will take a given sum to accumulate to the money you need at a particular compound interest rate. Includes function for single-deposit and multiple-deposit savings options.

  • Loan Repayment Amount: To see how much you'll actually end up paying the lender over the course of the loan (suspiciously, they never advertise this fact—just the Low Monthly Payments!)

  • Loan Repay Time: to find out how long it will take to repay a loan at a given interest rate and payment schedule.

  • Max Loan Amount: to determine the largest loan you can obtain given a certain interest rate, payment schedule, and payment amount.

  • Loan Amortization: Our favorite of the lot, provides a report of how much of each loan payment goes toward the principal and how much is interest. Essential for figuring out how much you need in order to repay a loan early

Still here? What're you waiting for? The SelfInterest personal financial calculator will save you money and make you money. And it only costs—hang on a sec, it doesn't cost anything. So get it now while supplies last. Even though the supply is infinite!
