#3445: 3" x 11" bumper sticker
#3444: 5" x 5" window sticker
Bumperactive is the proud sticker provider of One Web Day, the one day a year where people throughout the world communally celebrate the World Wide Web!
OneWebDay is September 22 every year, beginning with the inaugural celebration in 2006.
Why celebrate the web? As the August 26 post on the OWD blog explains:
Because the web is worth celebrating and protecting. It has changed our lives, and we need to recognize how important its continued health is to us. Because the web is made of machines, we often forget that it's a social world. The web is us, and so it's up to us to protect it.
That's why we're celebrating in public places (preferably wifi-enabled public places!). We want to make our connection to the web visible, outdoors, something for everyone to notice collectively.
We're going to be creating a lot of video and text and pictures along the way, and come Sept. 22 this site will point to all of that — another way to make things collectively visible.
As with Earth Day — The inspiration and model for OneWebDay — it's up to celebrants to decide how to observe the day. The OWD site includes the latest information on events in participating cities and countries. And if there's nothing planned yet for your neck of the woods? Organize your own happening through the OWD ProjectWiki!
And of course, wherever you are, you can commemorate OneWebDay year 'round with one of these fine OWD bumper stickers. A portion of the proceeds benefit the organization according to the Bumperactive revenue sharing program.
One Web. One World. One Wish. OneWebDay, September 22.
