Burlesque for Peace III: Burlesque The Vote

Answering the eternal question, "Shouldn't there be strippers who take it off for a worthy cause?" Yes: Austin's Burlesque For Peace reconvenes Oct. 3, this time for Texas' Naughtiest Voter Registration Drive(TM. (somewhat unworksafe link, depending how cool your boss is). Show starts at 9pm at Emo's, and The Yuppie Pricks are also playing. Tix available online and over the counter at Waterloo Records. Proof of voter registration required for admission. If you aren't registered yet, ya gots to do it at the door....
Proceeds from the show are to benefit a get-out-the-vote-organization-to-be-named-later -- This one's a late breaking idea for the election. Previous Burlesques raised money for the Revolutionary Association of The Women of Afghanistan and Adopt-A-Minefield. And if you're wondering what to expect from the show.... The guys and gals taking the stage range from spirited amateurs to full-fledged pros, including Austin's fast-becoming-legendary stripper-blogger Susan "The River City Kitty" Wayward. (watch the worksafe again). Think more along the lines of Cabaret Cheesecake than South Austin Gentlemen's Club. It's an all-pastie event, folks. Mildly kinky fun and games and pop-art pasties for sale are part of the evening. Good Clean Dirty Fun for the Whole Family!
