To swerve and protect?


A Centers for Disease Control Study found that 10,080 people were treated for non-fatal injuries last year after swerving to avoid large animals in the road, while 12,245 were treated after hitting 'em.
Ann Dellinger, a CDC epidemiologist and one of the study's authors, said drivers who came across animals on the roads should consider a number of factors, including road and weather conditions, before deciding whether to take evasive action.
